Do you find yourself tongue tied while people around you are happily engaged in interesting conversations? Light chatter, deep chats and effective networking are rooted in good conversation skills. Do your conversation skills need a tune up? Would you rather text or email than make a phone call or speak face to face? Do you avoid social interaction? Fearful of mix & mingles / office wine & cheese parties? Talking – how did it get so complicated? What was once natural may now seem challenging for many adults. As fluency with tech devices increases, our interpersonal relationships may wane unless we engage regularly with others. Sometimes we get so busy with our fingers and devices that we forget how to use our voices.

Canada's Top 50 Jobs
The latest Canadian labour-force report landed with a thud on the first Friday of April. Fifty-five thousand Canadians found themselves out of work in March, pushing the national unemployment rate up 0.2 percentage points to 7.2%. That’s more than one million able-bodied Canadians looking for work. Numbers like these are enough to make anyone simply thankful for having a job, any job, let alone one that pays a decent wage.READ MORE
Canadian Jobs Move to New Industries
The recession has shifted the areas of employment growth in Canada according to a new StatsCan study on the country’s job market. The analysis found that the recovery following the 2008 recession did not affect all industries similarly, with most job growth being concentrated in a relatively small percentage of the economy. In the 9 month recession that started in October 2008, over 431,000 jobs were lost in Canada. Over the subsequent 18 months, those jobs were recovered, but not in an even matter across all affected industries.READ MORE
