JOB NUMBERS ANNOUNCED
The job numbers for both Canada and the U.S. were announced for December. The highlights are:
Canada - Statistics Canada says the Canadian economy lost 45,900 jobs in December and the unemployment rate rose to 7.2% as more people searched for work.
U.S. – There were 74,000 positions created in December and the unemployment rate dropped to 6.7%.
